The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod offers webmaster resources on their site and the resources are even easily found in their navigation menu. On their main menu, you'll find Resources and under Resources, you'll find Webmasters. This is a very encouraging sign!
In addition to the easily found resources, you'll find links to their Twitter account and Facebook page, along with ways to share content. Here are some links to the resources they offer -
- Building a Congregational Web Site: An Introduction to the Process of Establishing a Web Presence for Your Congregation
- Useful Web Development Resources
- Suggestions for Categories and Content of a Congregation's Web Site
- http://twitter.com/thelcms
- CTS MemberConnect (not mentioned on the LCMS Webmaster pages as a resource)
- Church website directory - http://www.lcms.org/pages/internal.asp?NavID=391
What I found
Easily found resources, text-heavy pages, with long paragraphs (more than 1 screen), technical information about page load times, images, hosting and a basic, static outline for site content and a link to congregation websites (separate from their congregational directory). A technical approach to the web.
What I didn't find
Suggestions for connecting with people using social media, RSS feeds or reusable content.
