At the bottom of the home page of the United Church of Christ (www.ucc.org), click on the 'MORE' link in the Church Stuff section. From there, you'll find a link the section menu titled Get Your Church Online.

What I found
One of the few church bodies currently offering a webmaster forum and making use of the most social sites of all the church bodies. They also have a page where they offer templates for some of the more popular web platforms, but they currently only have 2 Joomla! templates.
The link in their menu to their Web University is broken, but a quick search produced the right page - http://www.ucc.org/vitality/web-university/ - they offer a 2-day workshop for churches wanting help with extending their ministries online.
What I didn't find
There was a link in their main menu for the web section for social media in churches, but it only mentioned the biggies - Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. There were no guides or strategies for leveraging social media, but the mention of them is more than others have done.
